Service Technician 24/7 Road Traffic Technology

As a Service Technician, you will be active in the field and responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of traffic systems, such as traffic light installations and average speed cameras in Flanders. You will play a key role in keeping these systems operational and optimized, serving as the technical point of contact for clients such as cities and municipalities. You will work according to established procedures, standards, and safety regulations, ensuring accurate reporting and documentation of your activities. You will typically start your workday from home using your service vehicle.

Function

  • Installing, configuring, and commissioning new traffic systems and components
  • Performing preventive and corrective maintenance on traffic light and parking guidance systems
  • Analyzing and resolving malfunctions on-site, including the replacement of defective parts
  • Modifying and renewing existing installations
  • Supervising commissioning and technical handovers together with the client
  • Managing and following up on service and smaller project activities
  • Accurately registering completed works and preparing digital reports (such as progress and acceptance reports)
  • Keeping technical documentation up to date
  • Advising clients and answering technical questions
  • Identifying client needs and contributing to potential solutions (in collaboration with sales)
  • Participating in an on-call rotation (24/7 availability)
  • Team player with the ability to act decisively and communicate in a manner appropriate to the recipient
  • PC skills in MS Office
  • PLC experience is a significant advantage
  • Independent way of working with strong communication skills
  • Interest in and affinity for transport technology and mobility
  • Technically proficient with an interest in further training
  • Driver’s license category B/BE
  • Proficiency in Dutch, both spoken and written
  • Residing in West Flanders is a requirement due to the need for rapid intervention during on-call shifts
  • Knowledge of French is a significant asset
