As a Mechanical Draftsman – Designer, you will strengthen the team in realizing various technical projects and assignments. You will work on a long-term assignment where you combine design, engineering, and ad-hoc technical support.

This role goes beyond pure drafting: you actively contribute to design solutions, provide technical input, and are regularly present on-site. You will work in a challenging industrial brownfield environment where your practical mindset and technical insights truly make a difference.

Job details

Function

  • Designing and developing mechanical installations, from the concept phase through to detailed engineering
  • Processing input from stakeholders, such as project teams, maintenance, production, and safety
  • Preparing 2D and 3D technical drawings in accordance with applicable standards and specifications
  • Presenting and explaining designs during technical meetings and adjusting designs based on feedback
  • Drafting technical specifications for requests for quotation and the procurement of equipment, materials, and services
  • Conducting technical discussions with suppliers and contractors
  • Checking drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements
  • Preparing cost estimates in close cooperation with the project manager
  • Creating execution drawings and monitoring activities on the construction site
  • Supporting and adjusting designs based on feedback regarding execution on the construction site
  • Document management: timely delivery of as-built documentation for correct archiving
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Mechanical Engineering or Electromechanics) or equivalent experience
  • 4 years of experience with industrial installations, from a design and/or maintenance perspective
  • Strong affinity with existing industrial environments
  • Experience with 2D and 3D design tools
  • Experience with Creo Modeling and AutoCAD is a significant advantage
  • Basic knowledge of SAP and SharePoint is an advantage
  • Solid practical knowledge of MS Office
  • Able to work independently and provide technical justification for design choices
  • Motivated to see your own designs realized on-site
  • Able to work independently and set priorities in a project-driven environment
  • Assertive, communicative, and result-oriented
  • Hands-on mentality with a willingness to provide ad-hoc technical support
  • Team player with a strong sense of responsibility
