Function

A contract manager is responsible for drafting, managing, and monitoring contracts with service providers. The core function includes contract management, ensuring a good working relationship between the parties involved to achieve contractual goals, and monitoring that both the contractor and the client adhere to the agreed cost calculations. Furthermore, you ensure that agreements are legally sound and complied with, including safety requirements, certifications, etc.

Contract Drafting & Negotiation:

Assisting in the drafting, reviewing, and negotiating of agreements for technical and support services.

Contract Management:

Managing the lifecycle of contracts, ranging from onboarding new parties, renewals, and amendments to termination.
o Assisting in establishing quality improvements for contractors (e.g., setting up tests prior to the start of activities, flange tree, rigger tests, etc.).

o Establishing procedures for a simple and correct billing system.

o Organizing regular progress meetings between the contractor and the client.

o Intervening when the delivered quality and/or execution agreements are not met, or taking the necessary actions toward contractors in the event of calamities.

o Overarching monitoring of cost agreements and performing spot checks on cost settlements.

o Drafting specific agreements for larger works such as shutdowns or projects.

Risk Management & Compliance:

Identifying risks and ensuring that contracts comply with laws and regulations.

Relationship Management & Monitoring:

Acting as the point of contact for the contractor and the client and monitoring performance and KPIs.

Process Optimization:

Improving the quality of delivered services or products.
