Mechanical Project Manager

Our client has more than 150 cranes (overhead cranes and harbor cranes) with a lifting capacity of 10 to 470 tons.

A large part of these cranes dates back to the early years (1968), which means that the cranes that were most heavily loaded are currently due for overhaul, conversion or replacement.

In this context, our client is looking for a project manager for cranes within the discipline of mechanics and steel construction.

In consultation with the parties involved, you determine the basic requirements of the assignment. You convert these requirements, supplemented with the applicable standards, guidelines, ‘good practices’ from previous projects, planning, etc., into specifications. You are responsible for drawing up the general requirements as well as the technical part concerning mechanics and steel construction. You work closely with your colleague who is responsible for the technical part concerning electricity and control.

You will discuss the specifications in detail with potential suppliers, after which you will carry out a technical review of the offers received.

Based on the offers received and the associated project costs, you will create a total budget for the project.
