As a project planner, you help build an accurate, future-oriented project structure. You develop and manage the WBS and planning structures in PRIMAVERA P6ยฎ, develop baseline schedules, and ensure clear reporting.

You monitor progress, perform analyses, and continuously optimize the schedule in consultation with project managers. Thanks to your insight, resources are deployed efficiently and bottlenecks are identified in a timely manner.

Function

โ€ข Developing and updating

  • an โ€œEnterprise Project Structureโ€
  • the underlying โ€œWork Breakdown Structureโ€ (WBS). The PRIMAVERAยฎ project WBS structure must be aligned with the project WBS structure as defined in SAP;
  • the detailed activities in PRIMAVERAยฎ for the projects within the scope
  • the codes assigned to activities in PRIMAVERAยฎ;
  • the resources to the activities;
  • the activity network;
  • the templates supporting project reporting;
  • periodic reporting in the form of quarterly reports and other ad hoc reporting.

โ€ข Developing a baseline schedule in PRIMAVERA P6ยฎ for each of the (sub)projects. The “Work Breakdown Structure” (WBS) of the baseline schedule is based on the WBS as defined in SAP. Within this WBS structure, activities must be defined to the level necessary for efficient coordination, monitoring, control, and reporting of execution;

โ€ข Providing support and assistance in monitoring the work of external employees and contractual service providers

โ€ข Critically assessing, inventorying, and updating resources. Resource data is linked to activities and entered into PRIMAVERA P6ยฎ;

โ€ข Defining, entering, and managing resource data at the activity level in PRIMAVERA P6ยฎ;

โ€ข Organizing consultation meetings with project managers to update and optimize the project schedule based on data from the preparation tables;

โ€ข Monitoring the progress of execution

โ€ข Performing โ€œEarned Value Analysesโ€ (EVA) at project and program levels;

โ€ข Calculating performance indicators, including โ€œCost Performance Indicatorsโ€ (CPI) and โ€œSchedule Performance Indicatorsโ€ (SPI);

โ€ข Periodic reporting of progress in the form of updated project schedules and S-curves based on updated data from PRIMAVERA P6ยฎ;

โ€ข Analyzing realistic scheduling scenarios.

โ€ข Identifying scheduling bottlenecks (critical path), ensuring correct and timely progress reporting, and flagging deviations.

โ€ข Identifying changes in project scope and assessing direct and indirect schedule-related consequences

  • Possessing a degree of at least Bachelor level with a specialization in Engineering, Logistics Technology, or Logistics Management;
  • Having at least 10 years of experience in project scheduling in complex โ€œEngineering, Procurement and Constructionโ€ (EPC) projects in an international and dynamic environment
  • Being able to provide at least five references for similar assignments, i.e., in developing, monitoring, adjusting, and reporting the schedule of research, development, or engineering projects (preferably in innovative infrastructures) in one or more of the following sectors: nuclear sector; pharmaceutical industry; (petro)chemical industry; electricity production; biotechnology; Research & Development.
  • Having at least 10 years of demonstrable experience in using the PRIMAVERA P6ยฎ application;
  • Assets:
    • Being able to analyze and structure complex work processes and interactions and translate them into clear and distinct concepts;
    • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail. Being able to process, analyze, and concisely summarize and communicate large amounts of data;
    • Knowledge of SAP ERP Project System (SAP-PS) is an asset;
    • Good knowledge of MS Office applications (MS Word, Excel, Outlook);
    • Possessing excellent communication skills. Being able to build and maintain working relationships with project staff specializing in various disciplines and spread across different organizational units;
    • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel;
    • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
