As a Project Engineer, you lead technical projects from design to completion within a highly regulated environment.
You combine mechanical and electrical design with risk analyses in accordance with nuclear and applicable standards.
In addition, you manage tenders, contractors, and external parties, and monitor safety, quality, and regulations.
You closely monitor budget, planning, testing, and delivery, and coordinate all involved stakeholders.
Finally, you ensure a correct handover, documentation, and training for maintenance and users.
Project Engineering:
• Performing mechanical & electrical risk analyses;
• Mechanical & electrical design of new installations, according to nuclear & generally applicable regulations (Nureg standards);
• Preparation, follow-up & review of technical drawings;
• Coordination of cooperation with external, independent control bodies;
• Coordination of access & safety administration for external participants/parties;
• Consultation with internal safety departments;
• Organization of contacts between all external participants/parties;
• Organization of assistance from external participants/parties;
• Monitoring of budget and planning.
Project Management:
• Drafting tender texts in accordance with public procurement legislation;
• Coordination of the tendering procedure in collaboration with the purchasing department;
• Participation in technical discussions with prospective contractors/executors;
• Drafting execution contracts in collaboration with the purchasing department;
• Coordination of access & safety administration for external participants/parties;
• Organizing follow-up & feedback meetings;
• Monitoring contractor planning;
• Consultation with internal safety departments during execution, supervision of safety on the construction site;
• Verifying whether works are carried out according to the quotation and general expectations;
• Organization of contacts between all external participants/parties;
• Organization of assistance from external participants/parties;
• Monitoring of budget and planning;
• Supervision of required tests & inspections;
• Evaluation of the delivered installations and the respective documentation provided;
• Transfer of the required information/documentation to the maintenance department;
• Organizing the required training(s) regarding the newly delivered installations.
Necessary/minimum requirements
o Civil or Industrial Engineer in (Electro)mechanics;
o Experience with renovation projects or new construction projects involving hoisting equipment;
o Extensive knowledge of electricity and mechanics;
o Experience with project management;
o Hands-on mentality;
o Works meticulously and in an orderly manner;
o Comfortable with administrative tasks;
o High safety awareness regarding industrial and nuclear safety;
o Extensive communication skills to bring these projects to a successful conclusion in collaboration with various departments;
o Sufficient reporting skills, capable of drafting specifications.
o Good knowledge of general IT applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, MS Project, etc.).
o Excellent knowledge of Dutch and a good knowledge of French and English (especially technical vocabulary).
Asset: Knowledge regarding public procurement
