Function

  • Participate in drafting the environmental policy and objectives to protect the organization’s image, limit risks, and control environmental costs
  • Provide advice on the environmental aspects and impacts of the organization, during the implementation of legal aspects, including new or amended environmental legislation, and throughout the project.
  • Take on project management of specific projects (e.g., preparation of permit applications, environmental impact report, etc.)
  • Prepare both nuclear and non-nuclear permit applications in cooperation with other services.
  • Coordinate the environmental impact report.
  • Coordinate and prepare environmental permit applications: practically monitor the areas of concern and problem areas related to the environment
  • Monitor federal and regional environmental legislation and check compliance in the workplace.
  • Prepare administrative reporting obligations (e.g., notification of released materials, IMJV declaration, wastewater levy declaration, etc.).
  • Prepare annual reports on radioactive discharges and environmental annual reports.
  • Participate in the development of an integrated care system (safety, quality, and environment) with the aim of achieving continuous improvement.
  • Maintain an environmental management system according to ISO 14001
  • Perform and supervise environmental aspect analyses (for new installations or relevant changes to existing installations and at least a 5-yearly revision).
  • Perform internal audits, including the follow-up of corrective and preventive measures.
  • Manage emission measurements and the environmental monitoring program with the aim of controlling the impact of business activities on the environment:
    • Ensure or be responsible for the execution of the prescribed emission and immission measurements.
    • Monitor, process, interpret, and report the measurement results
  • Proactively identify optimization opportunities in collaboration with various internal and/or external stakeholders with the aim of mapping and initiating improvements and/or projects.
  • Prepare, supervise, and execute in-depth and specialized calculations, analyses, and/or research in the context of issues and/or projects with the aim of enabling adjustments and innovations and contributing to optimizations.
  • Develop technical solutions and specifications in the context of projects and/or issues with the aim of providing an answer to the improvement needs.
  • Perform and/or participate in risk analyses and draw up safety measures in the context of projects, changes, and/or periodic revisions
  • Lead, organize, and adjust projects, as well as report with the aim of realizing the work in line with the set deadlines, budgets, project objectives, and quality requirements.
  • Continuously ensure the analysis of and provision of the necessary project, maintenance, and/or framework contracts in accordance with the Government Procurement Act (and be able to act as the leading official)
  • Act as a knowledge holder for the specialization domain within the organization with the aim of centralizing, standardizing, safeguarding, and sharing specific knowledge and information within the organization.
