In Antwerp we are looking for a civil specialist who can support the Construction Manager.
• You will be part of a small and enthusiastic site-based team
• You are involved in checking design documents and construction packages made by external design contractors.
• You will actively participate in internal and external meetings.
• Managing parts of civil construction activities
• Overseeing field activities
• Checking technical designs and drawings to meet project specifications & standards
• Supervising subcontractor staff
• Ensuring project packages execution meet agreed specifications and timescales
• Liaising with clients, subcontractors and other professional staff
• Providing technical advice and solving problems on site
• Preparing site reports and filling in paperwork
• Ensuring that health and safety and sustainability policies and legislation are adhered to
• Preparing and issuing all needed permit to works
• Checking necessary safety documents
• Proven experience in engineering and construction
• Minimum 10 years of work experience in the (petro-) chemical sector
• A valid VCA VOL certificate and a good safety awareness
• Sound knowledge of engineering, construction, and design.
• Great leadership and organizational skills
• Superb project management skills
• Ability to apply logical and critical thinking skills to projects
• Great written and verbal communication skills
• A willingness to learn
• A driver’s license
• Good understanding of English in speaking and writing and fluent in Dutch
• Real team player
• Willing to work in a small, flexible and enthusiastic international team
• Working outside standard hours must be possible
