Administer the packages of Wood instrumentation engineering group
-
Uses technical knowledge to perform engineering assignments and produce a range of instrumentation engineering deliverables (including more complex tasks) with limited guidance and direction from more senior technical professionals

Develops a range of instrumentation engineering deliverables, including specifications, calculations, reports, technical requisitions, material requisitions and others
-
Ensure that Instrumentation Engineering activities are executed according to Wood & client project procedures, specifications and standards, good engineering practices and techniques, and any project-specific requirements
-
Supervise the day-to-day (if any) engineering interfaces between PMC core engineering group, Project Management team and the engineering teams assigned to the EPC package – includes interaction with all other specialist disciplines as required

Participate in design reviews and engineering changes with customer and EPC contractor as necessitated by design development and ensure core team are made aware of these
-
Participate in key customer reviews and meetings as required
-
Participate in project reviews, value engineering and value improvement workshops with customer / contractor
-
Participate in GEC (Global Execution Center) meetings and reviews
-
Responsible for estimating electrical discipline manhours and schedule requirements in production of deliverables, coordinates own work schedule, and prepares progress reports.

Carryout Site Surveys and develop site survey reports

Review and comment PFD / P&ID for any control / interlock / safety related representations

Participating in HAZOP / SIL review meeting. Implementing safety instrument design as per review reports

Implementing safety instrument design as per HAZOP / SIL review reports, performing the calculation of SIL definitions and preparing safety requirement specifications
-
Update of P&ID and instrument structure design for the SIL requirements
-
Preparation / review / development of specifications of DCS / SIS / F&G systems and any other PLC related systems
-
Preparation of system architecture for DCS, SIS, F&G, or any other control systems
-
Preparation of material requisitions for DCS / SIS / F&G systems, SCADA or any other control systems required for the project
-
Preparation of technical bid evaluations of suppliers’ proposal for control systems
-
Preparation of the control system requirement for package units; supporting package specialists for MR, technical clarification and bid evaluations, document review and approval. Coordinating the interfaces between package unit control system and plant control systems
-
Review and approve vendor documents for incorporation into the design and co-ordination with other disciplines. Provide the input to other disciplines, such as electrical consumption for electrical power supply design, heat dissipation for ACMV design, weight and dimension for civil/architecture design

Preparation of cause & effect matrix, logic diagrams, control narratives and safety narratives, any other necessary control & ESD system related documents for the system configurations

Perform the calculation of SIL verifications and revise the instrument design structures where required
-
Review and check the all the activities and documents required for the lifecycles of the safety instrumented system
-
Review and approval of suppliers’ hardware and software configuration
Design of control room layout

Instruct and advise instrument design team for the control system hardware and cabling installation design, system cabinet earthing and grounding design
-
Preparation of instrument bill of quantity and subcontractor requisition for control system hardware installation work
-
Review / comment / approval of supplier’s test procedures; attend FAT / SAT and follow up with any punch list
-
Preparation of functional test procedures for loop testing when requested by client
-
Requires extensive and independent contact with clients, vendor’s representatives and project field personnel. Attend and participate in coordination meetings required
-
Direct and / or participate in job site visits to collect or deliver design and engineering data
-
Ensuring that all comments are consistent and are included in the drawings according to the applicable procedure
-
Relevant degree / Chartered Engineer or appropriate experience
-
Proven record ranging from minimum 10 years in engineering of refinery, oil & gas, petrochemical, or similar facilities
-
Experience of FEED and EPC projects
-
Experienced engineer with sound technical background and expertise.
-
Experienced in the use of appropriate codes of practice, standards and relevant sections of statutory documentation.
-
Fluent English, knowledge of French and Dutch is a plus
