Primary Tasks and Responsibilities
The Construction Manager will lead and supervise all on-site construction activities for the project, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, schedule, and budget requirements.
The Construction Manager will act as Owner Construction Manager in the structure of the EPCm set-up, representing the construction input and interests of the opdrachtgever. He starts in FEL2. During that phase, he ensures early input into planning and challenges construction bids effectively.
He checks the construction drawings and should participate in the constructability reviews to optimize the construction strategy, identify potential issues, incorporate safety into the design, and reduce the risk of late changes. The Construction Manager should review the construction direct and indirect costs.
During the project execution the Owner Construction Manager within the EPCm structure will ensure that:
• Lead and manage all on-site construction activities, ensuring execution according to design, schedule, and safety standards
• Coordinate contractors managing interfaces between civil, mechanical, electrical, and piping disciplines
• Ensure compliance with QEHS standards, Belgian and EU regulations; conduct audits, enforce safety protocols, and manage permits
• Monitor progress and budget, track costs, manage change orders, and report variances
• Oversee quality assurance, inspections, and compliance with specifications and ISO standards
• Communicate regularly with Engineering, Project Director, and key stakeholders
• Collaborate with discipline leads, commissioning teams, and site operations
