Construction Coordinator

The Construction Coordinator is responsible for the daily coordination, management, and supervision of building and construction activities at the project site for Belgoprocess. He/She acts as a liaison between contractors, the project manager, the operator, and other stakeholders to ensure safe, timely, and high-quality execution of the work in accordance with agreed specifications and legal regulations.

IMPORTANT:

The CC is essentially a (Nuclear) Work Preparer responsible for piping/mechanical and construction assignments for new and (smaller) maintenance projects.

  • Creating work packages with all necessary information for the scope to be executed
  • Providing inspection and test plans
  • Providing all documentation for the as-built file (modifications, photos, reports, material certificates)

Fonction

  • Acting as the point of contact for contractors on-site and ensuring a smooth flow of information between various parties (internal and external) to avoid or proactively detect conflicts (scheduling, quality, location, etc.) and propose solutions
    • Chairing contractor meetings and providing input during site meetings
    • Escalating issues as necessary
    • Advising on problems and involving the necessary and appropriate parties to facilitate decision-making
  • Supporting contractors and the project manager during project execution, and coordinating and monitoring contractors for smaller (maintenance) projects to ensure optimal project progress
    • Managing/following up on the necessary administration to grant employees access to the sites and work preparation for larger projects
    • Making the necessary documents (inspection and test plans, HSE plans, construction plans, etc.) available to contractors
    • Providing updates on the progress and issues regarding the work being performed
  • Monitoring and recording technical and administrative changes and milestones in the technical file during and after the works to ensure correct file management
    • Ensuring that changes made during execution are included in the construction file
    • Documenting the completed works (photo archive, reports, etc.)
    • Reporting major changes to the project manager
  • Contributing to the safety policy by enforcing safety regulations (including site regulations and the Royal Decree on Temporary or Mobile Construction Sites), participating in the prevention policy, and gathering and creating all necessary information to ensure safety within projects/sites in accordance with applicable guidelines and legal obligations
  • Identifying improvements and applying lessons learned to ensure continuous optimization of activities within the field of work on existing and new sites
    • Preparing unusual occurrence reports, incident reports, and factual analyses
    • Initiating improvement proposals and developing measures
    • Preparing toolbox talks
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a technical field
  • Mid-level profile: 5-10 years of relevant experience
  • Fluency in Dutch is required
  • Security clearance is required
